14-Apr-2018 -- I didn't expect...
Today I've been for a parkrun at Queen Elizabeth Country Park, visited Beacon Hill (I'm doing them all - a lot easier that the County Tops - as beacons tend to be somewhere where folks can easily build and light a fire) and Butser Ancient Farm... what next - yes a confluence and there is one 15 minutes drive away. It's a "do it from the car" confluence as the point is inside a building (my second such on a row) and it has been well documented...
But - there's 30 cars here and folks wandering around the farm and the adjacent fields - it is a metal detectorists 'field day' and I'm told no problems with my confluence visit after I had explained the purpose of my visit and they explained the thrill of detectoring. The field contains metal objects from many historical eras - today was found a Severus Alexander Silver Denarius "Togate Emperor By Tripod" minted in 226 AD. Cool.
