22-Jul-2019 -- We were on vacation at the Bostalsee, and our route back home in the Netherlands passed quite close to the 50N 7E confluence. We had great weather and lots of time, so on July 22nd, 2019 we loaded all our stuff in the car, and we set off to the confluence.
The confluence is super easy to find. Google maps shows it as being about 20 meters west from the L56 secondary road, and the sat nav led us directly to it. There is a small path into the forest very close and a little to the south to the CP where you can park your car.
When I got out of the car my phone's GPS already displayed 50°00'00.000" N, so I just had to walk maybe 20 or 30 meters due west along the path until the longitude indicator also settled on the round number. My GPS indicated an accuracy of 6 meters that day, so the actual CP could have been up to 6 meters on either side of the path (probably to the north). If a future visitor finds that his or her GPS indicates the CP location as some distance into the forest, that should present no problem as the undergrowth is quite light.
I took the required photos, and within 10 minutes or so from arriving we were on our way home. Quite an uneventful visit to an unremarkable CP. If you're planning to visit many CPs in this region in a short time, this might be one to include, because it shouldn't take much time.
An interesting aspect of this visit was trying to explain to my five-year old son why this place was both very special and very ordinary.
