15-Sep-2023 -- Es gibt einige Konfluenzpunkte, die ich von zuhause aus mit dem Fahrrad erreichen kann, dieser hier gehört nicht dazu. Also bin ich mit dem Auto angereist, habe mich für zwei Nächte im Moselstädtchen Müden in einem Hotel einquartiert und den Konfluenzpunkt 50°N 7°E auf einer ausgedehnten Radtour aufgesucht.

Der Konfluenzpunkt liegt ein paar Kilometer abseits und etwa 100 m oberhalb des Moseltales. So radle ich zunächst von Klotten (in der Nähe meines Hotels) moselaufwärts nach Alf. Hier verlasse ich das Moseltal und genieße nach dem strapaziösen Aufstieg zum Prinzenkopf den spektakulären Blick von dem dortigen Aussichtsturm auf die Moselschleife. Danach geht es, hoch oben über dem Moseltal, zum Konfluenzpunkt. Anschließend lasse ich mich wieder hinunter ins Moseltal rollen und radle flussabwärts nach Traben-Trarbach. Mit der Regionalbahn geht es zurück nach Klotten. Diese schöne Radtour habe ich mit zahlreichen Fotos hier auf Komoot dokumentiert.

Der Konfluenzpunkt liegt in einem Mischwald etwa 1 km nördlich des Bahnhofes Ürzig – und wäre von diesem ausgehend auch zu Fuß gut zu erreichen. Von der Landstraße L56 zweigt ein Waldweg nach Westen ab und schon nach wenigen Metern ist man am Ziel.

15-Sep-2023 -- There are some confluence points that I can reach from home by bike, but this is not one of them. So I traveled by car, stayed in a hotel in the small Moselle town of Müden for two nights and visited the confluence point 50°N 7°E on an extended bike tour.

The confluence point is a few kilometers away and about 100 m above the Moselle valley. So I first cycle from Klotten (near my hotel) up the Moselle to Alf. Here I leave the Moselle valley and, after the strenuous climb to Prinzenkopf, I enjoy the spectacular view of the Moselle loop from the observation tower there. Then I go to the confluence point, high above the Moselle valley. After the vistit I roll back down into the Moselle valley and cycle downstream to Traben-Trarbach. The regional train takes me back to Klotten. I documented this nice bike tour with numerous photos here on Komoot.

The confluence point is located in a mixed forest about 1 km north of the Ürzig train station – and could also be easily reached on foot from there. A forest path branches off to the west from the L56 country road and after just a few meters you reach your destination.
