13-Oct-2023 -- This is the only confluence of my homeland Rhineland-Palatinate (which according to its size should have two or three of them) and therefore a must see for me.
The point itself lies in a forest only 55 m west from Landesstraße L 56 between the villages of Bausendorf and Ürzig and could easily be reached by a less than 1000 m walk from Ürzig station on the Moselle valley line between Koblenz and Trier.
I was heading for the vicinity of the DEFRLU tripoint near Schengen and arrived in excellent autumn weather. The confluence approx. 12 m north of a westbound forest track can easily be found, the required photos were taken. After leaving the place, I took a look at lonesome Ürzig station (Ü does only exist in German and may be transponed as UE in other languages), proceeded to the village itself (nicely split between a elevated part outside Moselle valley and another part 100 m down beside the river).
I may strongly recommend to take Kreisstraße 62 (Römerstraße) from Ürzig in Traben-Trarbach direction and stop on her right side after 1100 m. This small parking site offers a magnificent view of Moselle valley including the High Moselle Bridge of Bundesstraße 50, 1700 m long and up to 158 m above the river.
