(visited by Alpar Kovacs and Orsolya Kátai)
03-Jul-2021 -- Probably this is the most visited Degree Confluence Point in Norway and also one of the easiest. We obviously planned this visit on our tour to Nordkapp. Arrived in late afternoon to Honningsvåg (Storbukt) and started the hiking from a creek behind the residential area. There is also a protective trench for rockfall/avalanche. It’s a narrow path on what you can approach from south to the site. The elevation between the start point and the site is ~100m and the distance ~ 800m in each way. The confluence point lies on the northwestern slope of the hill. The weather condition was perfect with good visibility and enough windy to blow off the mosquitos. From the CP it’s a beautiful view to Kamøyfjorden
Unfortunately the four cardinal direction photos are not clear images. Realized the focus setup issue only on the way back. Luckily I had my phone as backup for the GPS position. |
