Am 26. Dezember 2025 kommt Jana am Flughafen an, am 27. besuchen wir gemeinsam die Stadt, in der uns ganz besonders die Markthallen begeistern.

Mit der Dämmerung starten wir mit einem kurzen Halt an der Gedenkstätte Rumula. http://memorialplaces.lu.lv/memorial-places/riga-and-riga-district/riga-rumbula/

Wir nehmen die A10 bis zu einem Waldweg nach Süd-Westen. Von diesem aus geht ein derzeit nicht befahrbarer Weg etwa 430 m bis fast an den Confluenzpunkt.

Die erforderlichen Bilder sind schnell gemacht und wir fahren weiter zum Kap Kolka.

Dieses erreichen wir bei sehr starkem kaltem Westwind. Die Wanderung um die Spitze war ein besonderes Erlebnis..

Für die Nacht mieten wir uns in Ventspils ein.

On 26 December 2025, Jana arrives at the airport, and on the 27th we visit the city together. We are particularly impressed by the market halls.

At dusk, we start with a short stop at the Rumula memorial. http://memorialplaces.lu.lv/memorial-places/riga-and-riga-district/riga-rumbula/

We take the A10 to a forest road heading south-west. From there, a currently impassable path leads about 430 m almost up to the confluence point.

We quickly take the necessary photos and continue on to Cape Kolka.

We reach it in a very strong, cold westerly wind. The hike around the cape was a special experience.

We rent accommodation in Ventspils for the night.
