04-Dec-2002 -- The company I work for (Hydro) is moving into a new german headquarter (The ABC Tower) near Köln.
On a visit to setup some of the new systems there, I checked the confluence maps and realized that this point is less than a km from the A3 highway which we had to drive down to get there.
So, on wednesday morning I drove up to the point, first trying to enter it from the east, where the Garmin maps indicate that you can drive all the way to it.
Unfortunately, this road turned out to blocked with a gate, and so were the 3-4 other directions I tried: Either closed gates, or big 'No Entry' signs, allowing access only for farming equipment.
In the end I decided to park about 300 m due west of the spot, in Hermann-Ost-Strasse. From there I walked across the local highway B8, and then followed Grüner Kuhweg over the bridge that crosses the very busy railroad, and then a little bit north to the point which is located close to the railroad, a couple of meters into a field. Total walking distance was about 850 m.
Once at the point I spent a little time getting the gps photo, then made another panorama towards the railroad.
