30-Aug-2004 -- This was the second Confluence-point I could visit unexpectedly during my travel in France. A few days before I visited 49 N 005 E.

The area looks unspoiled. No building activity or whatever is visible. It's flat farmland, grassland. The actual point is about 25 meters (76 ft) from the nearest road, the D53 from Roanne to Villemontais and therefore easy accessable.

The pictures form a 360deg uninterrupted view. As said, the area itself is flat and the road D53 is straight as a ruler, but only 3,5 km (2.2miles) to the southwest you will find the "Monts de la Madelaine" a nice mountainous area with lots of nice roads and villages.
