07-Aug-2005 -- We were in Los Angeles for the weekend, so I thought that early Sunday morning would be a good time to visit this confluence. While this was true as far as traffic on the freeway goes, once I got to the confluence I found that the only living things awake were the dogs.
Since the pull off below the confluence is within 100 meters, I didn’t feel the need to rile up the dogs any more by climbing up the hill, picture #1, to get closer, though Jack made the climb, picture #6.
Picture #5 shows the GPS. This picture was taken at the bottom of the hill. The eMap said it was 48.6 meters to the confluence, and with the 11.3 meters claimed accuracy, we were within 60 meters of the confluence.
Pictures 2, 3, and 4 show the view from the bottom of the hill toward the north, south, and east respectively. The view to the west was up the hill toward the confluence, and is shown in Picture #1.
