28-Jul-2007 -- Due to the urban encroachment as evidenced by my predecessors, getting here is very easy. It’s a matter of driving to the end of Mission Drive where you’ll find a concrete drainage ditch. Look up toward the radio towers and you’ll see a small outcropping cliff about 500 yards up on the hillside. The CP is at the bottom of this cliff face.
The CP has a rock cairn with a plastic geo-cache bin. You’ll find all kinds of treasures. Don’t forget to leave something. It doesn’t take much time to get to it. Watch your footing on the steeper slopes going up and coming down from it. The loose smaller rock is particularly slick and gives way easily. A nice little hike if you’ve got an hour to kill.
I would imagine that the only place left for them to develop is to the south. Directly below the CP is too steep but hey what do I know, they build them on sides of cliffs in California. Enjoy the CP…..while you can.
