18-Feb-2016 -- This is the last out of 9 reports on confluence visits during our road trip across the USA. The story starts at 39°N 77°W and continues from 36°N 107°W.
On the 10th day of our cross country travel we left the Grand Canyon and drove towards Las Vegas. We started from the south entrance of the Grand Canyon and went south about 60 miles to reach Williams, AZ. Then we turned onto I-40 west, driving about 115 miles to reach Kingman, AZ. We then took US93 north, 75 miles to cross the Nevada state line, continued on I-515 to get to a town named Henderson. We turned right onto Mission Drive. It was a trail head at the end of the road.
We parked at the trail parking lot and started walking towards the rock hill in the back of a group of residential houses. This is a legal walking trail, so we didn't need to notify anyone. But the climbing wasn't that easy. The point was located on our second hill. We climbed up the first one and then had to go down again. Finally we reached the exact confluence point after having spent half an hour on the way. Round trip about 0.6 miles.
