07-Mar-2007 -- From yesterday's unsuccessful attempt at the Grand Canyon I spent the night in a motel in Williams, AZ and after a visit to the Hoover dam ended up in Henderson on the outskirts of Las Vegas.
Previous visits had shown that it was possible to drive quite close to this one and I parked in Mission Drive and walked to the end of the development which has now got very close to the confluence (pic 6); pic 7 from the confluence shows how close.
The views from the spot S, W, N, E are pics 1, 2, 3 and 4 and pic 5 shows the GPS. Pic 7 shows a great change from the first visit to this spot in 1999. Who said confluences never change? It was lunchtime and hardly any workmen about to ask how far the development was going.
Despite its closeness to civilization this one is still pretty much in the desert and I worried about all sorts of creepy-crawly nasties that we don't get in Europe.
