01-Dec-2007 -- Coming from 35N/119W it was a pleasant drive over Tehachapi Pass and further on Route 58 past Mojave airport which looks a little deserted these days with a lot less aircraft in storage than a few years ago. A sign of the booming economy?

This CP is very easy to reach the only challenge being not to miss the turnoff onto the dirt road from Route 58. This road shows up as Neuralia Road on Google Earth but don’t expect any road signs! The best thing is to use your GPS and drive on the eastbound lane to longitude 117°59.370W where you turn right. (If you see the fence of Edwards Air Force Base from Route 58 to your right, you went too far but there are U-turns available.) From the turnoff I drove south until I passed 35N and then west to 118W where I parked the car. The CP is located only 50 meters north of road. It was pretty chilly and breezy at the time I was there so I just stayed long enough to take the necessary pictures.
