12-Jan-2008 -- Viene de N5 W61, el día 11 de enero llegamos a Puerto Ordaz en nuestro regreso de la Gran Sabana, como lo habíamos planeado, pernoctamos en esta ciudad con el fin de descansar y salir al día siguiente en la mañana con destino a Barquisimeto, en cuyo trayecto haríamos una parada para lograr el punto N9 W 63, que se encuentra a 170 kms de esta ciudad.

Para cazar esta confluencia, salimos de Puerto Ordaz a las 7:30 am, pasando el gran río Orinoco por el nuevo puente y tomando la carretera 10, rumbo a Morichal, en el estado Monagas, nos deleitamos con el espectacular paisaje de la siembra de pinos conocida como Uverito, en el punto N8 59 05.2 W62 45 07.4, tomamos un desvío hacia el oeste por la carretera 15 que conduce a Morichal. En N8 52 40.1 W62 57 47.4 tomamos un desvío hacia la planta deshidratadora de PDVSA, ubicada en el sector del Jobo, pero que también es acceso hacia la siembra de pino caribe que se encuentran en esta zona y que se usan para la producción de madera y pulpa de papel. Tomamos unas trillas, atravesando campos petroleros recorrimos unos cuantos kilómetros y llegamos al cruce que lleva a La Becerra, conducimos por entre los pinos por una carretera en muy mal estado con restos de capas de asfalto y hundimientos amenazantes para los cauchos del vehiculo, por lo que hay que andar con cuidado, y antes de llegar a la torre de observación, cruzamos a la izquierda N8 59 37.3 W62 59 04.6 en sentido oeste, y entramos por las vías internas de la siembra, estas son de arena suave que deben transitarse con cuidado ya que es muy fácil perder el control del vehiculo. Llegamos al punto a las 9:42 am y casi logramos los ceros dentro del vehiculo. El punto esta a una altitud de 65 msnm.

Al bajar de la camioneta Yrene, vio una serpiente que nos asustó mucho. Pasado el susto, tomamos las fotos requeridas, y salimos por otra ruta siguiendo el noroeste, hasta salir a la carretera de asfalto que conduce a la población de El Salto, tomamos esta vía secundaria y empalmamos con la carretera 16 para continuar nuestro regreso, pasando por el Tigre, en el estado Anzoátegui. Tomamos la ruta de los llanos, atravesando el estado Guarico, luego el estado Aragua para tomar la Autopista Regional del Centro, pasar por el estado Carabobo y llegar al estado Lara, nuestro destino final. Esta aventura que comenzó el 4 de enero de 2008, recorrimos casi 5.000 kms, atravesamos 8 estados disfrutamos del paisaje de los llanos occidentales, los llanos centrales, los llanos orientales y las bellezas naturales, saltos de agua e imponentes tepuyes del sur del país.

12-Jan-2008 -- Comes from N5 W61, in January 11 we arrived to Puerto Ordaz in our return from the Gran Sabana, as we had planned it, we spend the night in this city with the purpose of to rest and to setup next day in the morning with destination Barquisimeto in whose itinerary would make a stop to achieve the point N9 W 63.

To hunt this CP, we leave Puerto Ordaz to the 7:30 am, passed by the great river Orinoco by the new bridge Orinoquia and taking the highway 10, heading Morichal, in the Monagas state. We delight with the spectacular landscape of the well-known sowed field pines as Uverito, and at N8 59 05.2 W62 45 07.4, we take a deviation toward the west for the highway 15 that it drives to Morichal, in N8 52 40.1 W62 57 47.4 take a deviation toward the PDVSA installation, located in the sector Jobo, but that it is also access toward the sowed field of pine type Caribe that are in this area and are used for wood production and paper pulp. We take some trial, crossing oil fields, traveled some kilometers and we arrive to the crossing that drives to La Becerra. There we drive by among the pines on a way in very bad state with remains of asphalt layers and that threatening the tires of the vehicle, so it is necessary to drive carefully. Before arrived to the observation tower, we turned to the left at N8 59 37.3 W62 59 04.6, and we enter for the internal roads of the sowed field. Here the trails were soft sand that you should drive carefully, since it is very easy to lose vehicle control. We arrive to the point to the 9:42 am and almost we achieve the zeros inside the vehicle. The point it is located at an altitude of 65 masl.

When Yrene was getting off from the van, she saw a snake that I scare us a lot. Later, with care, we took the required pictures, and we leaved the place using another trial following the northwest, up to the asphalt road to El Salto town. We took this secondary road and we connected with the road 16 to continue our return, going by El Tigre, in the Anzoátegui state. There we took the route of the plains, crossing Guarico state, then Aragua state to take the Central Regional Freeway, to go by Carabobo state and to arrive to Lara state, our final destination. This adventure that began January 4 almost traveled 5.000 kms, we cross 8 states we enjoy the landscape of the western plains, the central plains, the eastenr plains and the natural beauties, waterfalls and imposing tepuys of the country south region.
