14-May-2015 -- This is the 6th out of 12 reports reaching confluence points along the 51°N-line. The story starts from 51°N 14°E.
After a drive on country roads of 1:40 hours from 51°N 10°E with our rental car, we parked a distance of 676 m from this confluence at 11:27 AM. The inboard navigation device guided us to the wrong side of the forest, such that we had to turn it off and drive around the forest before entering it. When we finally entered it, we took a wrong turn. But I decided that it was quicker to walk the remaining distance of 676 m rather than search around by car. So we parked the car and had a quick run to the confluence point.
The confluence is located in the middle of a young beech forest and not quite straightforward to reach. Based on the presence of some stones at ground zero, somebody must have tried to create a cairn. A view of the general area is only possible from quite some distance, since there is only dense forest in the vicinity of the confluence point.
Again, we didn’t hang around for a long time at this confluence, since we planned to visit another 6 confluence points before end-of-day.
