22-Sep-2015 -- This is visit number 8 in a sequence of 15 visits made while on a road trip with my son Michael.

The previous is 51N 7E.

I awoke at 7:20, showered and went off for a long lazy breakfast.

Michael didn't.

I returned after breakfast to find Michael still asleep and not going anywhere very fast. After some gentle persuasion I got him to shower and get dressed and we checked out of the hotel. Luckily for Michael it was my turn to drive. We headed out of Amsterdam, heading for 52N 5E.

The traffic into Amsterdam was horrendous, luckily we were heading out of Amsterdam - on the other side of the motorway we measured slow moving stop and go traffic for about 30 km. We didn't have that problem. We had another problem - Michael not feeling too good - but we made it to 52N 5E without any technicolour yawns in the car but I think it was close a few times.

This was our second visit to this CP, the first having taken place in 2007. This visit was as easy as the first, having parked the car close by. We took the usual photos, Michael with less enthusiasm than usual, in fact at first Michael didn't want his photo taken, he didn't feel too photogenic - take a look at the visitor photos to see what I mean.

A few minutes later we were on the way to 51N 4E, stopping at a McDonald's on the way to buy 2 cheeseburgers and some orange juice, and Michael spending a few minutes in a nearby park-and-ride parking place slowly eating, drinking and walking round in circles - all part of the recovery process.
