09-Jul-2018 -- During the summer holidays, direction Pyrenees and back to Germany, I had the chance to visit some confluence points.
I left the motorway A5 and followed the country road B31 to Freiburg im Breisgau. The confluence 48N 8E is located only around 10 km from the city. Therefore, I passed Freiburg and followed the road, named "Schwarzwaldstraße", later "Untertal" and "Mitteltal". On that road, you drive through an absolutely beautiful valley. About 1 km in front of the junction the name of the road L127 changed again into "Obertal". Near the junction I parked the car and walked up the quite steep asphalted way, up to the farm house "Obertal 6". After passing the farm area and a house, the GPS displayed a distance of 460 m to go. An old millstone was laying along the way.
This visit turned out to be quite easy because the CP is located directly on a big woodland path. Therefore, the necessary pictures were taken soon and the formal requirements were fulfilled. However, the conditions for good pictures were bad - or better to say: my camera. Really strong shadows in change with very bright sunlight made it difficult to photograph the location well. Next to the CP 48N 8E an old scythe was hanging on a tree.
On the way back I saw some sheep under a hut, looking for sun protection on that hot summer day. On a pole, I saw a sign showing "Winterberg" and "Lindenberg" which can be accessed from here.
