22-Jul-2018 -- During the summer holidays direction Pyrenees I had the chance to visit some confluence points. On the way back to Germany I visited 43°N 3°E.
On the Motorway A9 we passed Perpignan and took the exit "Aire de Gasparets" direction coast. The road leads through Le Peyrou and Les Grazelles. After leaving the residential area we crossed the bypass road D 6139. 1.3 km later the dirt road was too steep for our car so that a parking place had to be found. On foot, after around 2 km, I reached the area of the confluence point 43°N 3°E.
It is a barely overgrown high plateau. Some elder wind energy converters (WECs) are installed here. The blades of two WECs were already destroyed by flashes. After passing a three-sided information post I took the picture of the confluence area with the WECs on the right side of the picture. Caused by the good satellite reception at the CP 44°N 3°E I had my pictures taken soon and was able to finish my fist confluence visit in a wind farm. On the way back to the car I realized the loud noises of the cicadas and could take a quite good picture of one.
This visit took place around 2 pm when it was very warm. Only at the beginning I met a family with packed bicycles near the parking place. Unfortunately it was calm during the visit so that the WECs didn't had to do anything.
