12-Oct-2005 -- Still enjoying our trip around the USA, and still trying to do CP visits, we ended up in Denver last night and I looked to find a CP not far off route from our intended drive for the day. We had planned on driving up towards Fort Collins and heading into the Rocky Mountains National Park, driving through it and returning via Boulder and this CP. This could not be achieved today as the first snow of the season had arrived over the last few days and the road was closed; we did drive up to the National Park and had a nice look around, but were unable to drive all the route we had planned. We did take a few walks in the park which was also great.
On the way back we headed for a geocache that was about a mile from the CP. We found that after a few tries, it was a very good hide. Now it was on to the CP; the area looked like it was going to be easy, and I would have to say that it was one of the easiest to visit, the fence that a previous visitor had to climb has had a nice opening placed it. We parked the car about 50m from the CP on the main road and just strolled over to it.
We took all the photos of the GPS and us at the point and headed back to our hotel in Denver after having a great day in the countryside.
