02-Oct-2008 -- Just prior to my visit to this confluence point, I stopped at the Boulder Atmospherice Observatory (BAO) which is a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) research facility. The center piece of the BAO is its 300 m tower which has been used for numerous research studies over the last 30 years. I was checking a sodar (ground-based acoustic wind profiler) that was being tested at the BAO. Before I headed up to Boulder for the day, I realized that this confluence point was just about 3 miles to the south of the BAO. It was fairly easy to get to, just had to watch the traffic while crossing the street.
