20-Sep-2009 -- Continued from 53°N 2W°.
We spent four weeks in the United Kingdom visiting cousins. As well, we managed to visit eight confluence sites to add to those we've visited back home in Canada and some in the United States. This is the sixth of eight visits in the UK.
We arrived at this site near Wrexham, North Wales' largest town, around 3:00 pm. This is our fourth visit on the 53rd Latitude in the UK. It was cloudy with some sun. We parked by the side of the road as so many others before us have done. The tree covering made zeroing difficult but Alan was eventually able to get them on the edge of the road without going over the fence. While he was working on that, I entered the small open meadow area next to the confluence trees. Wild flowers were in bloom. Insects were buzzing around them. Big Spiders had built large webs to trap small insects. It was beautiful and quiet other than the voices coming from neighbouring homes and gardens. I took photos of some of the flora and fauna in the meadow.
We left this peaceful place and headed west to 53°N 4°W.
Coordinator's Note: Would future visitors please note that to reach the actual CP you will need to cross into the field.
