#1: View of the CP (from the North-East)

(visited by Terratin)

19-Jun-2016 -- British summer... grey and cold. At least it's not raining... making it a perfect day to go hunt for a confluence.

Having done some planning, we started out on the A55 (N Wales Expy), right at St. Asaph, straight on to Ruthin, then Corwen, left to Llangolen, through Cefn-Mawr and Ruabon to Gyfelia. Expecting an exit directly going to the CP, we missed the first exit and ended up doing a 1.1 mile detour through the hamlet of Crabtree Green, approaching the CP from the South-East.

Although the road is a small country road, there's enough space near the CP to park the car without obstructing other traffic. Given the (in-)accuracy of ±7 m on both our GPS's, we weren't quite sure where the CP exactly was; we took an educated guess it is in the meadow immediately West of the road. However, as we were close enough to make this a successful visit, we decided not to bother going into the meadow (Read: we didn't want to get all wet from the long grass.)

The location is rather nice, green grass, trees, a little stream. But then again you take it in and that's about it. No real reason for a prolonged stay at the CP. So we went ahead, took the pictures, filled out the details on our "Confluence Point Visit Recording Sheet" and went on our merry way back home: A483 past Wrexham, near Chester left on the A55 back home... where we met another aspect of British Summer: a downpour! (How we miss living in Qatar...)
