29-Jul-2015 -- Continuing my drive westward, I left Austria to enter southern Germany (Bavaria). My final confluence visit of the day was to this easy point that lies just beside a (narrow) paved road - with a cornfield nearby.
Also nearby is a “Meridianstein”. As with other “Meridiansteins” that I have seen in Europe, it appears to have been located using a datum other than WGS84 (or else was simply placed in a more convenient place), as it’s about 51 meters from the ‘true’ WGS84 Degree Confluence Point. (It is still close enough to count as a ‘successful visit’, however.)
