01-May-2003 -- Was on my way home from private business near that scenic Chiemsee, and since my GPS and photo-equipment is always ready-to-hand in my car, I decided to visit this confluence (somehow I think like Eskimos: life-critical stuff always has to be in reach :) ).

Some confluences you can visit casually, "en passant" so to speak. You can - but you shouldn't...

At 48N 12E that rock with the plaque attached can be easily seen off the road between Aßling and Straußdorf, and with a long focal length and fast films you'd even need not to stop your car while shooting the photos.

But I agree with the former visitors: it's such a nice place indeed! Worth to stay a little and take a breath or two and forget about business for a while...
